We take a youth-centred, mana-enhancing approach to help rangatahi build confidence, strengthen connections, and thrive. Explore some of our core youth development offerings below!
Youth Workers in Schools (YWiS)
We work with nine schools across the Wakatipu Basin, from Glenorchy to Arrowtown, supporting rangatahi through regular visits, programmes, and events. At Wakatipu High School, we collaborate weekly with the pastoral care team. These strong school relationships help increase our presence and allow us to deliver meaningful, youth-centred support across the region.
Community Youth Centre
The Loft is our youth hub—a welcoming space for Drop-In, activities, and connection. With support from Kiwi Harvest, we offer food and essentials for youth and families, along with a youth wardrobe. Programmes like Wakatipu High School’s Offsite Education and the Central Otago Youth Employment Programme run here, supporting youth to learn, grow, and feel connected.
Holiday Activities
Our holiday programmes are action-packed with something fun for everyone and often book out quickly. Thanks to support from community sponsors and MSD funding, we’re able to offer activities at a low cost. These programmes are a great chance for rangatahi to try new things, build friendships, and create awesome memories during the school holidays.
Life Skill Education
We co-design and deliver life skills education in partnership with schools and community providers. Led by trained youth workers, these sessions provide hands-on learning, tools, and guidance to full year levels or targeted groups. Our goal is to equip rangatahi with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to make positive choices—both now and in their futures.
Youth Events
We deliver and are involved in a number of events throughout the year. Events are short contact time but highly effective for youth engagement. They familiarize people with what we do, and provide real life opportunities and authentic experiences for many of our tāiohi to connect with their wider community.
Youth Programmes & Groups
We have a range of short-term and ongoing group programmes that run across the year, which provide young people with peer connections, safe spaces and safe adults, loads of fun, opportunities for learning, growth, and feeling valued.
