Our Wahine Warriors Youth Empowerment Programme is back with a new and exciting workshop! This time, we’re teaming up with Kathryn Nevatt, a former World Champion freediver, to bring young wahine an incredible opportunity to learn freediving – a sport that balances mental and physical endurance.

This four-week course will take place at the Queenstown Events Centre, with a blend of pool sessions and theory-based learning.

All necessary gear can be provided if needed, and we expect many of the participants will need gear, so please let us know in advance.
We encourage youth to attend all four sessions to get the most out of the course, as each session builds upon the previous one.
*A consent and medical form will be sent out prior to the workshops starting.

This workshop series is part of our Wahine Warriors programme for young females (and those that identify) focusing on building healthy self-esteem, relationships, teamwork, mental wellbeing and connection to the whenua (land) by trying new tasks and activities. The programme is in collaboration with WYT & community organisations & funded by The Ministry of Youth Development.
